My Path to Reiki Mastership
At ten years old my mom became a level 1 Reiki practitioner. A nurse and MRI technologist, she learned with a fellow group of nurses as a way to support their patients holistically. One of her friends from this group continued her training and eventually became a Reiki master. She held monthly meditation and Reiki circles in her home. As I grew older, in addition to these monthly gatherings, I would see Ronnie for individual Reiki treatments for support in anxiety and stress relief. Experiencing the profound relief of this form of energy work, I always knew I would become a Reiki practitioner myself one day.
Before it came time for me to reconnect to Reiki, I became an architect. I slogged my way through the toxic education system that saw burnout as the only true testament of your worthiness of the Architect title. For 15 years I practiced in a number of oppressive work environments, often working 70 hours in a week for a salary below a liveable wage. On a personal level I struggled with establishing and holding boundaries and often overextended myself in friendships and relationships. I was often accused of being ‘too sensitive’ and saw this as a personal flaw that I should work to hide and/or ‘fix’. Needless to say, I reached some very low points during this time period emotionally and spiritually.
Intuitive Art

In the depths of this chaos I began to return to myself through spending time in nature, starting a painting hobby and reconnecting to Reiki. After attending a Reiki soundbath I experienced a profound release of a long-held creative block shortly after. I remembered the power of Reiki as an embodiment and spiritual healing practice. A few months later I took my Reiki 1 workshop and continued my training through Reiki 3 and a mastership course with my teacher, Sarah Rayne.
I am honored to share this healing art with others and see the subtle or profound shifts that occur after a session. True to the way Reiki entered my life, host offerings both 1:1 and in group settings. Having experienced Reiki’s ability to help me reconnect with my creativity, I center many of my offerings around creative expression and play. I am excited to offer intuitive art gatherings beginning in January, where I’ll combine guided visualization, reiki and an intuitive art exercise to support you in connecting to your own sacred creativity.
If you’d like to be notified when these offerings are live, sign up for my mailing list below, or check my events page from time to time. I hope to see you soon!
